The 2026 Designer Motorcycle Helmet Collection

Every year we take the shapes we already trust and give them new color, new materials, and new detail. The 2026 collection is sixteen designer motorcycle helmets, each one finished by hand in our workshop.

Nothing here is a limited run for its own sake. These are the colorways we thought were worth making, in finishes that hold up over years of riding.

What Makes a Designer Motorcycle Helmet

Designer motorcycle helmets are the category where finish, materials, and hand craftsmanship lead the design rather than manufacturing convenience. What separates them from off-the-shelf models is where the human hours go: hand-applied paint, full-grain leather, exposed carbon finishes, and metal hardware in place of molded plastic. Safety standards are the same, since every road-legal helmet has to meet DOT or ECE 22.06 regardless of how it looks. What differs is the quality of the materials, the level of detail, and the number of hours a person spent on each shell.

What's New for 2026

The headline pieces this year:

  • Heroine Racer 2.0 Two Face, in Dark Matter and a Carbon Edition. A split finish across the shell that shifts as the light moves over it.
  • Psilo Explorer. Our first adventure motorcycle helmet, dual certified with DOT and ECE22.06 standards.
  • Heroine Racer 2.0 Eemes and Bauhaus. Two designs drawn from mid-century furniture and design school geometry rather than from motorsport.
  • Epicurist 2.0 Arena and Mare. Quieter colorways on the open face shell, for riders who prefer classic designs.

If you're torn, our Open Face Helmets and Full Face Helmets collections go into more detail on each shell.

Leather, Carbon, and Hand-Painted Finishes

Time spent on safety, comfort and design equally, is what separates a handcrafted helmet from a molded one. On a Hedon shell, the human hours that go into ensuring maximum protection is the same dedication that goes into paint, leather, and metal:

  • Paint: automotive grade, applied and lacquered in layers. Two Face and metallic finishes are masked and sprayed by hand, so no two shells come out identical.
  • Leather: full-grain, hand-stitched into the lining and trim. It seasons as you wear it and takes on a patina, the way a good jacket does.
  • Carbon: on the Carbon Edition shells, the weave is left exposed under lacquer rather than painted over.
  • Hardware: metal fittings and buckles rather than molded plastic, so the parts you touch every ride feel like parts.

Sizing and Fit

Fit matters more than any other decision you make here. Measure around your head about a centimeter above your eyebrows with a cloth tape, then check the Helmet Size Chart before ordering.

A new helmet should feel firm against your cheeks and forehead without pressure points. Leather lining gives a little as it seasons, so a comfortable helmet on day one will settle in further after a few weeks. If you're between sizes, contact us before ordering rather than sizing up by default.

Frequently Asked Questions

What makes a motorcycle helmet a designer helmet?

In practice, it means the design was led by how the helmet looks and feels rather than by manufacturing convenience. On a Hedon that shows up as hand-applied paint, full-grain leather lining, and metal hardware instead of molded plastic. The safety standard is the same as any other road-legal helmet, certified to ECE 22.06 or DOT. What differs is the finish, the materials, and the number of hours a person spent on it.

Are designer motorcycle helmets as safe as regular helmets?

Yes. Every Hedon helmet meets the safety standards required for road-legal motorcycle helmets, certified to ECE 22.06 or DOT. The design and finish don't affect the certification, since safety testing covers impact absorption, penetration resistance, retention system strength, and field of view regardless of what the shell looks like. The difference is in how the helmet is finished after it's built, not in how it protects you.

Is a leather-lined helmet harder to look after?

Not especially, but it wants different care than a synthetic liner. Let the helmet air after a wet or hot ride rather than closing it away, and wipe the leather with a barely damp cloth rather than soaking it. Avoid solvent cleaners on both the leather and the lacquer. Treated that way, the lining seasons and darkens rather than wearing out.

Which Hedon helmet suits city riding?

Most city riders choose an open face like the Epicurist 2.0. You get more airflow at low speed, a wider field of view in traffic, and it's easier to hold a conversation at the lights. If your commute includes fast highway sections, the Heroine Racer 2.0 full face will be quieter and calmer at those speeds.
